North Yorkshire Pilgrimage Walk 2023
A pilgrimage walk from St Mary’s Church, Richmond, via Hudswell Hostel at St Michael’s, ending at St Michael and All Angels, Downholme.

Pilgrims will be encouraged to park their cars at Downholme, where a field adjacent to the church will be available. The church of St Michael & All Angels. Downholme is on the A6108, 250m north of the turning for Downholme village Transport will be available from Downholme to our starting place at St Mary’s Church in Richmond (with the Little White Bus) leaving at 10.15.
Pilgrims will need to book a place on the bus in advance via Eventbrite and pay for the transport on the day. (£2 per person)
If you wish to join the walk without using the bus from Downholme, please make sure you are at St Mary’s Church, Richmond (DL10 7AQ) by 11.00. Please also contact Martin Booth (email@example.com) if you intend to do this to provide an indication of number of pilgrims.
The walk will begin in Richmond at 11.00 with a blessing from the Bishop of Ripon. There will be a stop at Hudswell Hostel where free refreshments will be provided and own packed lunches can be eaten. The pilgrimage will end at Downholme with a short service commemorating the feast of St Michael.
Pilgrims may wish to return to Hudswell to purchase welcome refreshments at the George and Dragon.
